本作和KingsleyAmis的另一部作品“TheGreenMan”有着很深的关联。如果把时代推前几百年、将主角写的书改成学术方面的，又可以视为M.R.James风格的故事。

这本子也太无聊了。。＝＝
最满意的是对音乐的运用，庄严奢华的巴洛克曲调烘托了神秘的氛围。
